Media Release: Harvest House Ministries Announces Restoration of Charitable Status with Retroactive Tax Receipts
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, Ontario – April 1, 2026
Harvest House Ministries is pleased to announce that its charitable status has been officially restored by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), effective September 20, 2025.
This milestone follows the organization’s October 2025 statement regarding the revocation of its status due to an administrative oversight concerning the filing of its annual return with CRA. The restoration came about as a result of the coordinated effort of Harvest House staff, professional advisors and the CRA to ensure a timely reinstatement with as little impact as possible on the organization’s ongoing work.
Harvest House has also confirmed it is fully authorized to issue charitable tax receipts retroactively. All eligible donations made during the period in which charitable status was revoked will receive valid receipts (between Sept. 20, 2025 and March 18, 2026).
The organization has begun issuing receipts for donations made following the revocation and expects the process to be completed before the 2025 tax filing deadline.
“We are deeply grateful for the patience, encouragement, and continued support shown by our donors, partners, and community during this time,” said Rev. Dr. Daniel Crépault, Executive Director. “Throughout this season, we have been reminded of the faith that sustains our work and the people who stand with us in it.”
Donors who have opted to receive receipts electronically will receive them from noreply@blackbaud.com. Harvest House Ministries encourages supporters to check their spam or junk folders and to whitelist this address to ensure delivery.
For more than 47 years, Harvest House Ministries has served men in addictions recovery, providing a structured environment rooted in accountability, community, and faith. The organization continues to operate without interruption, offering support, stability, and hope to those seeking a new path forward.
“With renewed clarity and purpose, we are moving forward in our commitment to serve others with compassion and integrity,” added Dr. Crépault. “We remain thankful for the trust placed in us by our supporters.”
