Aftercare and Community Reintegration

At Harvest House, we recognize that completing a one-year residential program is a major milestone—but it’s not the finish line. Transitioning back into the community presents a new set of challenges: lack of stable housing, limited peer support, unresolved legal issues, gaps in education, and barriers to employment such as transportation or a criminal record. Without continued support, even the most committed graduates can find themselves vulnerable to relapse or reoffending.

That’s why we place such a strong emphasis on Aftercare and Community Reintegration. Our Re-entry Program offers a voluntary second year of structured support for graduates who want to build on the progress they’ve made. Participants live in off-site houses rented by Harvest House, giving them greater independence while still benefiting from a safe, supportive environment. They continue to attend recovery groups, counselling, and classes, while also engaging in skills development and educational advancement.

This phase is about setting people up for success. It’s a launchpad—a chance to upgrade employment skills, pursue post-secondary education, stabilize finances, and rebuild relationships. Re-entry helps residents put their recovery tools into practice in real-world settings, giving them the best possible foundation for a stable, fulfilling future.
