Media Release: Harvest House Ministries Confirms Continuation of Services and Transparency Amid CRA Administrative Renewal
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ottawa, Ontario – Nov. 12, 2025
For more than 47 years, Harvest House Ministries of Ottawa-Carleton (“Harvest House Ministries”) has been a cornerstone of Ottawa’s recovery community, helping thousands of men overcome addiction and rebuild their lives with dignity, accountability, and purpose.
Harvest House Ministries acknowledges that its charitable status was recently revoked by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) due to an administrative oversight concerning the filing of its annual return. There has been no financial wrongdoing or impropriety of any kind whatsoever.
Once this issue came to light, Harvest House Ministries immediately retained legal counsel experienced in charity law and has since submitted its application to the CRA for charitable status renewal. The organization continues to work closely with its advisors and the CRA to ensure full compliance and a timely reinstatement.
While the renewal process is underway, Harvest House Ministries continues to operate as usual, providing residential recovery services, counselling, and community support to men and families across the region. This administrative matter has had no impact on day-to-day operations, and the organization’s focus remains on saving lives and building futures – one recovery at a time.
In accordance with CRA requirements, Harvest House Ministries is not issuing charitable tax receipts at this time.
“Harvest House remains deeply committed to transparency, accountability, and the trust that our community has placed in us for nearly five decades,” said Rev. Dr. Daniel Crépault, Ph.D., Executive Director. “Our mission continues without interruption, and we are grateful for the ongoing support that allows us to change lives every day.”
Information about Harvest House’s Board of Directors, operations, and financial statements is publicly available on its website. These disclosures reflect the organization’s ongoing commitment to good governance and public trust.
